GfM Masterclass
What is the Masterclass?
The Masterclass was born in October 2020 to give the chance to some of our "offline" members to work out with others. In addition, to be a way for all of our members to hang out in person after a special workout.
The Masterclass takes place every second Saturday of the month in my backyard or at Martin Park, South Boulder at 9am [MT].
The Masterclass workout is different from the weekly classes. It's a HIIT workout with stations or a field training. Let me tell you more about those two workouts.
Station Masterclass
During the Masterclass with stations we use all the typical GfM equipment: broomstick, elastic band, stability ball, medicine ball, kettlebells, and the TRX, with some plank and cardio exercises, too.
At the beginning of each Masterclass we warm up (5 minutes) and then start the intense session (~ 45 minutes with two water breaks):
- 3 big circuits
- each circuit has 6-8 stations
- we repeat each circuit 3 times
- 30" an exercise, 3 - 4 minutes per round, 9 - 12 minutes per circuit
Field Masterclass
During the Field Masterclass we have 4 different circuits
4 circuits
1. Warm up: Field circuit, where we jog in circles repeating some coordination exercises such as high knees, lateral jumping jacks or touch the ground and jump, and more.
2. Ladder drills + Upper body exercises: coordination exercises to improve agility and explosivity, following a pattern on the ladder and combined upper body movements such as different types of push ups
3. Relay: with weights, working in couples or groups of three, we move weights in different ways from one part to the other of the field
4. Core Grand Final: different exercises to make our abs burn to conclude our training
5 minutes of mandatory stretching to cool down together.
The joy of the accomplishment
Giorgia fitMindset aims to encourage people to establish a long-lasting and active routine, and the Masterclass wants to further reinforce the commitment of the GfM members.
We take care of ourselves daily by exercising online because we all agree that it is efficient and effective. The zoom routine fits our busy lives, but once a month we love to see each other physically and connect about our active schedules and lives.
That’s why, at the end of the intense workout we always chat while enjoying a piece of homemade focaccia and some Kombucha or hot tea, depending on the weather.
All over the world
My dream would be to see all the "non-Boulderian" members organizing their own mini-Masterclasses together. I am waiting for that day, where all the Zoom windows will be full of friends ready to work out together and hang out after the Masterclass.
Masterclass lovers
As I said, the Masterclass is our special monthly workout. That's why it's not included in any membership and it's open to everyone. So, I encourage all of you to bring your non-member friends and family to the Masterclass.
I would also like to emphasize the importance of an active routine outside of the Masterclass, because if the Masterclass is your only monthly workout it could be more harmful than beneficial. But, if you’re able to make it your one HIIT monthly session on top of other activities throughout the month, it's a very good total body workout.
Extra Care
The Masterclass is one of our extra care products and that’s why, on top of being a different workout from the online routines and a way to have fun together, it usually gives us the chance to explore new things. Sometimes, at the end of the workouts, we have special guests that bring their knowledge in order to expand and empower our active routine.
So far, we’ve had the pleasure of enjoying yoga sessions, sound baths, massage (and hopefully more to come!) to conclude our monthly special active dates.
