The personal evaluation
When & Why the Personal Evaluation was born
Summer 2020, my family finally decided to go on a small vacation from Thursday to Tuesday to Yellowstone National Park. Giorgia fitMindset was still a newborn and I was afraid to leave my students alone for one week.
At that time, we had less than 10 students but I cared about them so much and didn’t want them to lose all the progress that we had made in the previous months. I also realized that they were new athletes, and that their fitMindset was not strong enough to be active on their own.
Thus, I came up with vacation homework(our very first Personal Evaluation!):
2 full days off (because their bodies needed to rest and their minds needed to miss GfM to come back more motivated than before)
2 circuits to measure their levels of strength, endurance and cardio
Measurements (weight and circumferences of their body)
Goal setting
I thought that could keep them busy and active enough while I was on vacation. Moreover, I hoped that could help them come back even more motivated.
At the first workout after my vacation, I found that everyone was on fire, ready to exercise harder and with a higher level of internal motivation!
It turns out that the Personal Evaluation was very useful and it became an essential part of Giorgia fitMindset every trimester.
What is the Personal Evaluation?
Giorgia fitMindset Personal Evaluation is an easy Google form that we fill out every four months.
It starts with general information, date, name and age and it then goes into more personal details.
It’s divided in 2 parts:
Measurements:
Height
Weight
Circumferences (Bust, Arm L, Arm R, Abdomen, Waist, Hips, Thigh L, Thigh R)
Circuits: to prove endurance, strength and cardio levels reached.
(Example)
Cardio: 30’Jumping jacks+ 30’Jumping rope+ 30’Butt Kicks → Total mins =
(Switch Ex. every 30’ secs no breaks until you are exhausted)
Plank: Round of plank (1 = 30’ regular+30’L+30’R) → Total round =
Core: Hold the V → Total min =
Legs: Round of legs (1= 1 Squat + 1 Front Lunge R + 1 Front lunge L)→ Total Round =
Arms: Push ups (on your feet) → N =
Everyone is strongly encouraged to complete the Personal Evaluation in order to fully embrace the fitMindset.
In a few weeks we are going to talk about what we do with the Personal Evaluation.
